Can you say what you want with only a few words (or even one?)
Or even none?
Saying what you want with as few words makes what you say more meaningful, and may allow others to express what they want to say better too.
And in the end, developing the skill to say what you want with as little words, and therefore noise, becomes in art in and of itself.
Sidenote: ‘More matter with less art’ is from Shakespeare’s Hamlet, where Gertrude tells Polonius to stop fucking around and get to the point.
