The Philosophy of: Anna Karenina’s Karenin on Misfortune

It is a fortune that may befall anybody. And this misfortune has befallen me. The only is how best to endure the situation.

Any shitty thing that can happen can happen to you. But if any shitty thing that can happen can happen to you, then it’s likely that a similarly shitty thing has happened to somebody before (and probably will in the future too).

The only thing you do control in this situation is how you perceive it. And what you do with that perception. That part is entirely up to you, and your own reason.

Whatever shitty thing happens to you is neither remarkable or ordinary – it just IS. And it’s probably happened before, like even a day ago.
