Do you know what you’re actually feeling? It’s not about what it is, it is why.

Tagging the way you feel as ‘anxious’, ‘afraid’, ‘worried’ or ‘upset’ for example may do little or nothing in the pursuit of actually determining how we feel.

The words have put through the ringer of so many different contexts, they’ve been used ironically, as jokes, or in situations of varying gravity and emotional weight. So, instead of throwing names at what we feel, it may be of far greater benefit to us figuring out not only how we feel but how we can fix it.

Think about why you feel that way, not what you feel.
